"We've got to do something. We can't let ourselves be killed. We can't go like beasts to the slaughter. We've got to revolt" (Wiesel 40).
This is happening when they are at Auschwitz and they are being beaten. In order to dtay alive they have to do something like let people know about what is happening. They can't just stand there waiting to die like nothing is happening or is going to happen.
"Let the world learn of the existence of Auschwitz. Let everybody hear about it, while they can still escape...." (Wiesel 40).
The Jews would like to tell everyone that this concentrarion camp exists and it is very brutal and that it kills a lot of people everyday. They also want to tell people that is not safe here before they decide to come here not knowing what it will be like at this concentration camp.

I like the second quote. And good job on setting the quote up.
I agree with Haley: the second quote is full of awesome. However, I might suggest not just restating what's happening in the quote, and rather reveal something about diction or character traits or whatever. (I have a problem with this myself xD )
